The Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing, or ARM Institute last week said that that its member consortium has grown to include more than 500 organizations nationwide, with thousands of individual subject matter experts represented within these organizations. The organization collaborates with its consortium and the U.S. government to promote the U.S. as leading nation in manufacturing output through the adoption of robotics and AI.
“We are proud to work with our consortium to build a resilient, secure, and bright future for U.S. manufacturing,” stated Jorgen Pedersen, CEO of the ARM Institute. “Our member consortium is the foundation of our Institute and integral to our mission.”
“Our members have collaborated with us on hundreds of technology projects, helped us launch major initiatives, including our national workforce resource RoboticsCareer.org, supported manufacturers through their robotics and automation journey, and more,” he added. “We look forward to celebrating this milestone at our 10th Annual Member Meeting later this month.”
Founded in 2017, the ARM Institute is a Manufacturing Innovation Institute (MII) funded by the Office of the Secretary of War under Agreement No. W911NF-17-3-0004 and is part of the Manufacturing USA network. The organization relies on its member consortium and partners across industry, academia, and government to promote U.S. manufacturing leadership through the adoption of robotics and AI.
ARM Institute conducts activities with and for members
The ARM Institute said it focuses on catalyzing innovative yet practical robotics and physical AI solutions. The Pittsburg-based institute said it is also working to grow and prepare the U.S. workforce for advanced manufacturing careers.
“The ARM Institute’s member consortium is expansive, bridging gaps and bringing varied perspectives together to catalyze robotics, physical AI, and workforce solutions to strengthen U.S. manufacturing,” stated the organization.
Last month, the institute issued a project call from the U.S. Navy to address needs in the shipbuilding industrial base. This month, the ARM Institute put out a request for proposals for a skills gap analysis for a localized talent supply chain to support the organic and defense industrial base.
Its consortium members include manufacturers of all sizes, defense contractors, technology providers offering robotics and AI systems, research universities, community colleges, vocational schools, government entities, startups, and others.
ARM Institute membership is at the organizational level and provides access to funding opportunities, member-exclusive events, a digital member community for virtual collaboration, and more. Companies, governmental bodies, and educational institutions that otherwise would be considered competitors work together through the institute for the benefit of the nation and manufacturers across the U.S., asserted the organization.
10th annual member meeting coming soon
The ARM Institute marked the membership milestone as it prepares to host its 10th Annual Member Meeting from Nov. 17 to 19. This member-exclusive event convenes experts from across ARM’s consortium and the U.S. government for two and a half days of networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing.
The event in Pittsburgh will feature expert-led presentations, networking and curated matchmaking, a Member Showcase Hall, and more. This year’s event will feature celebratory content and activities in recognition of the anniversary.
Registration for the ARM Institute’s 2026 Annual Member Meeting closes on Nov. 13. Register or join the ARM Member Consortium before then to gain access to the meeting.
