How did Agility Robotics perform on its first day on the stock market?

Earlier today, Agility Robotics began trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker “AGLT.” The company claimed that it is “the first pure-play legged humanoid company to go public.”

Agility started the day trading at $11.26 per share, above the initial $10 per share price used in the SPAC deal. It was a day of ups and downs, as it was for many tech stocks. It hit its lowest price at $8.40, and its highest at $12.15.

The company ended up closing the day trading slightly above (2%) where it had started, at $11.49. Other pure-play robotics providers did not fare so well.

Serve Robotics, another publicly traded robotics company that offers sidewalk delivery robots, ended down 12.45%. Surgical robotics leader Intuitive Surgical ended down 2.82%. Symbotic, which provides end-to-end warehouse automation, ended down 2.47%. In addition, PROCEPT BioRobotics Corp., which provides robotic aquablation therapy, ended down 6.42%.

While Unitree, another humanoid robotics provider, doesn’t trade on the Nasdaq, it is public on the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s STR Market. It’s one of the only other publicly traded humanoid robot providers.

Unitree first debuted on the market at 150.80 yuan ($22.55 U.S.), and saw some quick success, hitting a high of 1,100 yuan ($164.46) that day. Just a few weeks after debuting on the market, it was down almost 53% from its first-day high. The company is still working to climb back up to those numbers.

In addition, China has reportedly tightened its own requirements for initial public offerings for humanoid robot startups.

Technology and AI-related stocks struggle across markets

Note that the entire Nasdaq is down 5.52% today, which means Agility was beating this overall trend. Much of these losses were concentrated in AI-related stocks.

NVIDIA ended the day down 9.26% from its opening price. AMD ended down 17.26%, while Qualcomm dropped 9.49%. Microsoft was down 3.58%. Rockwell Automation was down 14.15%.

Other markets have had some of their worst days since April 2025. The S&P 500 dropped 4.36%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 3.44%.

This week’s midterm elections have caused the markets to fluctuate. While they saw some sharp gains yesterday, many of those gains dissipated today. Today’s losses have a lot to do with investor uncertainty around future data center buildouts with a now Democratically controlled Senate and House.

The Robot Report will be watching Agility’s performance on the markets in the coming months. Already, the company alluded to adding more robots to its portfolio. The Robot Report also broke the news about Agility exploring wheel-based robots in September 2026.

Peggy Johnson, Agility’s CEO, talked more about this plan in a recent video. In the video, she mentioned the possible addition of a smaller bipedal form factor to the company’s lineup.

Agility claimed that for its newest Digit 5, it has more than $300 million in committed multiyear orders, subject to contractual milestones and product specifications. It expects to begin Digit 5 deliveries to early-access customers in 2027.

Agility’s public offering, which it conducted after completing a merger with special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Churchill Capital Corp XI, will provide around $465 million in gross proceeds before expenses.
