The Robot Report gathers and reports industry news, tracks the business of robotics, and has worked with others to develop an index of robot industry stocks. Whether reporting about a robotic arm, a new robotic hand, artificial intelligence (AI) or the stock results of the robotics industry, The Robot Report strives to keep you informed
The Robot Report covers general robotics, industrial robots, robot events, FIRST, RoboCup, VEX, AI for robots, robot software, robot hacks, robot reviews, LEGO Mindstorms NXT, and mobile robots of all types — underwater ROVs, autonomous land sea and air vehicles, UAVs and remote-controlled robotics. The Robot Report also reports on space, military, industrial, agricultural, commercial and medical robot news. This robot news portal also focuses on robotic products and projects, including news from China, Japan, Korea, Europe, Israel, the US and around the world. Entertainment robots, domestic assistance robots, health care and elder care robots, exoskeletons and bionic prosthetics, and many other robot applications assisting humans are covered regularly.
The Robot Report has been reporting on robot news, competitions and events since 2008. In July of 2017 The Robot Report was acquired by WTWH Media, LLC.
Frank Tobe is the founder of The Robot Report and co-founder of ROBO Global which has developed a tracking index for the robotics industry: the ROBO Global™ Robotics & Automation Index. The index of 82 companies in 13 subsectors tracks and captures the entire economic value of this global opportunity in robotics, automation and enabling technologies.
“Early in 2008, in a personal effort to learn about the robotics industry and the future of robotics, with an eye toward selectively investing in publicly-traded and privately owned robotics businesses, I began an intensive research project that took me to Japan, Korea, China, Switzerland, Germany and all over the Internet. My eyesight has suffered but not my mind. I love what I’m doing and finding out and, in an effort to share my research, I set up this website, The Robot Report, to track the business of robotics. Early in 2009 I set up the Everything-Robotic blog to supplement The Robot Report with periodic in-depth personal insights.”
Frank is also a panel member for Robohub’s Robotics by Invitation series. Robohub.org is a Swiss-based online platform that brings together leading communicators in robotics research, start-ups, business, and education from around the world.
In early 2013, with some entrepreneurial financial partners, Frank Tobe co-founded ROBO-GLOBAL™ LLC, and helped develop a tracking index for the robotics industry: the ROBO-Global™ Robotics & Automation Index. On November 12, 2013, with a one-armed robot and a 3-fingered robotic hand, along with friends and business partners, in a widely seen media event, the ROBO-Global™ family rang the closing bell of the NASDAQ exchange in celebration of the launch of an ETF predicated on that index.
