BRINC raises $75M in funding for emergency response drones

BRINC Drones Inc. yesterday said it has raised $75 million in new funding. The Seattle-based company said it plans to use the capital to accelerate the development and production of its emergency-response drones.

“We will continue building world-class emergency-response drones and scale our team to meet the growing demand for our life-saving technologies,” stated Blake Resnick, founder and CEO of BRINC. “We couldn’t be more excited for the future.”

BRINC said the new funding will enable it to meet increasing demand from public safety agencies, advance research and development for next-generation drone technology, and expand its workforce to support continued growth and innovation.

Index Ventures leads BRINC funding

BRINC manufactures its drones entirely in the U.S. The company said its with integrated R&D and production facilities gives it complete control over its supply chain.

With more than 600 public safety agencies and over 10% of U.S. SWAT teams relying on its products, BRINC added that its drones are “pivotal in de-escalating critical situations and protecting lives.”

Index Ventures led BRINC’s funding round. Motorola Solutions, Mike Volpi, and Dylan Field, CEO of Figma, also participated. The company has raised a total of $157 million to date, according to Crunchbase.

“Our investment in BRINC represents a deep belief in their transformative vision,” said Vlad Loktev, partner at Index Ventures. “The company’s technology has redefined how public safety agencies handle critical incidents. We’re thrilled to continue supporting BRINC’s mission to protect human life with public safety technology.”

Motorola Solutions integrates systems

A strategic partnership with Motorola Solutions will integrate BRINC’s drones with Motorola’s APX radios, VESTA 911 call management software, Computer-Aided Dispatch systems, Real-Time Crime Center Software, and Automatic License Plate Recognition technology.

The companies said this technology fusion allows the drones to be deployed instantly via radio commands, respond to sensor alerts, and deliver real-time aerial intelligence directly into Motorola’s public-safety infrastructure.
