Mujin, a Japanese developer of intelligent robotic automation, established its first European office. The office is strategically located in the Netherlands.

This European expansion comes on the heels of a handful of achievements, which include an $85 million funding round in September, growing market adoption, and Mujin’s North American expansion in 2021.

Mujin has a diverse product portfolio that includes the TruckBot, random palletizing, depalletizing, and bin picking. At the center of its portfolio is the Mujin Controller. The company said its universal controller can transform industrial robots from any manufacturer into intelligent machines that can automate a variety of applications across manufacturing and logistics.

“We are very excited to enter new markets in Europe,” Lukasz Drewnowski, CEO at Mujin Europe, said in a release.” We already have many partners in Europe for whom our close presence will certainly make collaboration even easier. The European market is very mature and customers expect very high standards. We feel that Mujin is a perfect fit to meet these requirements and will become the number one choice for local customers.”

Setting up shop in the Netherlands

Mujin said its European headquarters is in the heart of the Netherlands. For the company, this represents a pivotal step towards its goal of global expansion. Mujin said its recent funding round positions it as a significant player in delivering robotics systems to a broader international audience.

European operations will be led by Drewnowski. Drewnowski previously served as a business manager, operations manager, and managing director at ABB Robotics in Poland, China, and the UK.

The company said it settled on the Netherlands as its new European home because of its innovation and logistics excellence. Mujin’s European hub will serve as a central hub for sales, customer support, and system development. Mujin said it will enhance its ability to meet the unique needs of European businesses across various industries.

“We’re thrilled that the European market can start to get a taste of intelligent robotics with Mujin Controller,” Ross Diankov, CEO of Mujin U.S. said. “There are so many features and capabilities packed into the platform that it will help unlock a lot of next-generation applications in the warehouse and manufacturing sectors across Europe.”

Mujin is expanding its European team and said it is currently recruiting salespeople and engineers. The company’s global presence also includes offices in Tokyo, Atlanta, and Guangzhou.
