Humanoid robotics developers continue to raise millions of dollars. Agility Robotics Inc. and Churchill Capital Corp XI today said that they expect Agility to raise about $465 million in its proposed merger with the special-purpose acquisition company, or SPAC.
According to Agility, the gross capital raise includes:
- About $164 million from Churchill XI’s trust account
- Approximately $201 million from a common stock PIPE (private investment in public equity) committed at $10 per share, led by Foxconn with participation from existing and new institutional investors
- $100 million of equity funding already received following the announcement of the business combination
That total is less than the $620 million that Agility predicted at a $2.5 billion valuation when it first announced the planned business combination in June. The Robot Report has reached out to the company for comment and will add it if we get a response.
“Agility is expected to enter the public markets well capitalized to execute its planned investments in commercial expansion and support growing customer demand,” stated the Salem, Ore.-based company.
Agility expects to close the SPAC transaction, subject to shareholder approval and the customary closing conditions, on Nov. 4. The company has claimed that it will be the first U.S. publicly traded, pure-play humanoid supplier with commercial deployments.
Agility gets Digit ready for customers
Last month, Agility unveiled its Digit 5 humanoid, which had new legs (and possibly wheels) and is designed to work safely alongside people and support a range of workflows. Last week, Jonathan Hurst, co-founder and chief robot officer, and Pras Velagapudi, chief technology officer at the company, spoke about humanoid advances at RoboBusiness 2026.
Agility this month also chose Nyobolt for fast recharging, which it said will enable its robots to operate for more than 20 hours a day.
The company said it is “on track to begin deliveries to early-access customers in the first half of 2027, with general availability targeted for the end of 2027.” Agility also said it has more than $300 million in committed multi-year orders for Digit 5.
Humanoid use cases are growing
Digit continues to make progress in live operations. In a September S-4 statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Agility reported $1.8 million in net sales in 2025. Its customers across nine sites include Toyota, Mercado Libre, and Schaeffler.
AGCO this month announced plans to deploy Digit in its agricultural machinery factory in Kansas.
And this week, Agility said it is expanding its partnership with GXO Logistics, implementing humanoids in North Carolina and Tennessee.
Humanoid companies continue fundraising, acquisitions
Agility’s investors include NVIDIA (with whom it also expanded its relationship), Amazon, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Schaeffler, Foxconn, Abico, DCVC, and Playground Global. The company said that all existing shareholders will roll their equity into the combined company and will be subject to a 180-day lock-up at closing.
Some of the top funding rounds for humanoid companies so far this year include Neura Robotics‘ $1.4 billion Series C, XPeng Robotics‘ $900 million Series A, AI2 Robotics‘ $735 million Series C, and Apptronik‘s $520 million Series A-X.
Top acquisitions include UBTECH‘s purchase of Fenglong Electric for $249 million and Faraday Future‘s purchase this week of FF Robotics.
