Faraday Future’s Aegis quadruped passes compliance certification for U.S. sales

Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. last week announced that its FX Aegis quadruped robot has passed all of the required compliance certifications needed for formal sales in the U.S. The company’s other two humanoid robots, Futurist and Master, have already passed compliance certification.

The tests, conducted recently by the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Authorization and Certification Division, ensure that Aegis robots are fully compliant with all applicable safety, security, and spectrum standards.

Founded in 2014, Faraday Future is a mobility developer that entered the robotics market with three models earlier this year: FF Futurist, FF Master, and FX Aegis. The Los Angeles-based company began sales and deliveries in February 2026 and shipped over 20 robots last month, more than its target number.

Faraday Future said it plans to deliver 200 robots for the first delivery season. In the second half of the year, the company plans to ramp up deliveries.

FX Aegis designed to be adaptable

Faraday Future said it designed FX Aegis as a professional, embodied AI quadruped robot for security and companionship. The system is highly adaptable, both structurally and functionally, claimed the company.

Aegis comes standard as a quadruped while also supporting an optional four-wheeled version (similar to RIVR’s system, recently acquired by Amazon). Aegis can reach a maximum speed of 8.2 mph (3.7 m/s) and has a 22 lb. (10 kg) payload capacity.

The robot is naturally adaptable to complex environments, according to the Los Angeles-based company. Its peak joint torque can reach 48 Newton-meters, easily overcoming obstacles of about 13 in. (33 cm) and climbing stably on slopes of 40 degrees.

It can flexibly expand with lidar, depth cameras, communication modules, robotic arms, fire extinguishers, and professional security plugins according to task needs. This allows the robot to integrate into different scenarios, said Faraday Future.

On the software level, Aegis can connect with home, campus, and industrial security systems, achieving continuous patrol, status feedback, and intelligent linkage.

Aegis supports Wi-Fi and 5G communication, and it can expand to remote operation capabilities. Faraday Future said this allows the legged robot to work continuously outdoors, in industrial sites, and even in areas far from network coverage.

Faraday Future offers a range of options

FX Aegis also comes with mature autonomous patrol and follow-me capabilities. It can perform stably without frequent human-machine interaction, said Faraday Future. Outdoors and on the road, it can follow alongside, providing lightweight assistance and safety assurance.

Aegis was designed for a range of usage scenarios. On the road, it can be a reliable traveling partner. In factories and law enforcement, it can function as a professional security pioneer.

In emergency rescue and high-risk environments, it can be the first to enter the scene. And in asset inventory and small item delivery tasks, it can also be a punctual, silent mobile messenger, according to Faraday Future.

The FX Aegis series pricing starts from $2,490, with an ecosystem skill package price of $1,000 for the second development version.
