ASI CEO Mel Torrie to kick off Field Robotics Engineering Forum

By Brianna Wessling | October 6, 2022

Mel Torrie, the CEO and founder of Autonomous Solutions Inc. (ASI), will kick off the Field Robotics Engineering Forum with his keynote presentation “A Field Robotics Journey”. In this wide-ranging session, Torrie will provide attendees with a first-hand account of the opportunities and challenges of delivering field robotics solutions to the marketplace.

Torrie’s story will begin with ASI developing industrial robotic solutions in agriculture, landscaping and construction with John Deere 22 years ago. ASI eventually expanded into mining, logistics and automotive autonomy testing. More recently, ASI partnered with SoftBank to accelerate robotics adoption in the landscaping and logistics market through their Mobius multi-fleet orchestration platform.

During Torrie’s session, attendees will be provided with lessons in adversity, culture creation, robotics development, bootstrapping, fundraising, negotiating with billion-dollar OEMs, and successful autonomy product rollout.

The Field Robotics Engineering Forum will feature 70-plus exhibitors, 60-plus speakers, a MassRobotics Career Fair and Startup Workshop, the Pitchfire Startup Competition, networking receptions and much more. Full conference passes are $795, while expo-only passes are just $75. Academic discounts are available and academic full conference rates are $295. Register today.
