4 reports predict steady growth for robotics

By Frank Tobe | October 15, 2014

Four recent research reports covering service robots, vision guided robotics, material handling robots, and robot component speed reducers, all predict steady growth, particularly in China.

QY Research offers their $2,200 report on the Global and China Vision Guided Robotics Industry and predicts steady growth for the industry segment through 2019.

Another $1,500 report by Research in China covers the manufacture of speed reducers in China, a core component of the motors and gears that are part of all robots. The report predicts a doubling of output from 244,000 in 2013 to 461,000 in 2016. Because the focus is China, many new vendors come to light in the report.

Wintergreen Research has a $7,800 report on the logistics and material handling robotics marketplace. The report predicts the market segment will reach $31.3 billion by 2020 and includes companies that provide palletizing and de-palletizing robots, material handling robots, life science and pharmaceutical logistics robots, food and beverage logistics robots, semiconductor and electronics handling robots to name just a few.

TechNavio’s Global Service Robot Market 2014-2018, a $3,000 report, predicts a 16.5% CAGR over the period 2014-2018. The report covers professional robots and personal/domestic robots and include aerial, underwater and mobile robots of all types.
