By now you’ve heard about Windows 10, now Microsoft introduced Windows 10 IoT Core, a stripped-down version of its new OS that’s designed to run on Raspberry Pi 2 and MinnowBoard Max, two tiny computers popular in robots.
To show off what Windows IoT Core can do, Microsoft built a robot hockey table (watch the video below). The robot hockey table is powered by the MinnowBoard Max and uses an overhead camera to track the puck. And it seems to do a pretty good job.
There’s also motor controllers, 3D printed and laser cut parts, as well as an emergency stop button. Microsoft also built a Universal Windows App to control the game.
This certainly isn’t the first robot air hockey table out there, but with a little more development this would be a nice addition to the man cave.
