Farmers have always relied on sheepdogs to herd their flock of sheep. But, apparently, even man’s best friend is a victim of the robot revolution.
In the video above, “Shep” the drone quickly herds a flock of 120 sheep across a field and through a narrow gateway.
The drone stays behind the flock at all times, moving them forward from one field to another. And the flock is obviously reacting to Shep’s movements and maybe even the buzzing of his blades.
The footage was captured by Paul Brennan, who specializes in aerial photography for farmers, on a farm in Carlow, Ireland.
