Yarbo closes Series B funding to continue yard robot expansion

Robots could be coming to backyards near you soon. Yarbo last week said it has closed its Series B funding round, raising about $27 million. The New York-based company said a group of strategic and financial investors has backed its vision of reimagining how the world handles outdoor work – one season at a time.

Yarbo said the new capital will enable it to scale mass production, enhance supply chain resilience, and deepen its investment in research and development. This will fuel faster product optimization and iteration, it claimed.

The company also plans to accelerate talent acquisition, strengthen liquidity, and push forward with pre-public offering planning as it sets its sights on global expansion and long-term market leadership.

A decade of innovation, one yard at a time

Founded in 2015, Yarbo began life as Snowbot, targeting the infamously tough task of robotic snow removal, a long-standing pain point for homeowners. Since then, the company has transformed from a niche robotics brand into a global leader in outdoor automation, now operating under the Yarbo name.

In 2022, Yarbo’s crowdfunding campaign raised more than $3.45 million, and by 2024, its own direct-to-consumer, full-payment, pre-order campaign generated over 6,000 orders.

With momentum continuing to build, Yarbo asserted that it expects 4x to 5x sales growth in 2025, supported by its expansion across North America, Europe, Japan, and Australia.

New trimmer module nears mass production

Yarbo reported a successful Spring Sale & Robotic Trimmer Launch livestream in early April – it reportedly moved 702 total units, including 284 trimmers, and raked in over $850,000 in sales within two hours. The company added that its new Trimmer Module is approaching mass production.

Designed to tackle edges, tight spots, and other areas conventional mowers can’t reach, the Trimmer expands Yarbo’s spring and summer capabilities, complementing its Lawn Mower and Blower modules.

Yarbo said it is continuing to develop modules to cover tasks such as granular or liquid spraying, moving garbage bins to the curb, picking up dog waste, and even harvesting fruit. All of these would not require changes the core robot.

The goal? The company said it wants a “full-spectrum, ‘1+N’ yard ecosystem that meets every seasonal demand and makes yard work a relic of the past.”

The future of yard work is modular, says Yarbo

After its showcase at CES 2025, Yarbo has continued to build on its product innovations, including:

  • “Follow Me” mode – lets Yarbo visually track and follow a person, hands-free
  • 3,500 lb. (1360.7 kg) pulling capacity – from firewood to garden carts
  • Quick-swap design – users can change tracks, antennas, or modules in under five minutes
  • HaLow-powered data center – for better connectivity, a stronger signal, and wider coverage

    I’m a Mammotion Luba user. It is extremely limited. As a retiree, I need something with more flexibility, attachments, and power for my property. However, due to the extreme cost per module, I can’t see the chunk coming out of my budget.
