The “Police Log” is always the first section I read in my town’s weekly newspaper. And, thankfully, it’s always boring.
Police logs are must-reads for most people, and every now and again you even get a fun little nugget, like the following from the Stow, MA police log:
Stow police received a call at 1 PM on Nov. 3 from a Catherine Circle woman who said that as she stood in her garage, she heard noises above, as if people were talking and walking about. Nobody was supposed to be home at the time, so the woman was frightened. Police officers responded to the scene and found the culprit: the woman’s robot vacuum, which was cleaning floors upstairs.
No word on the model of the robot vacuum, but it must be quite loud. Maybe she needs a newer robot vacuum for the holidays.
This isn’t the first incident caused by a robot vacuum in 2015. In February, a 52-year-old South Korean woman was “attacked” by her robot vacuum while she was napping on the floor. Sleeping on the floor is common practice in South Korea, and the robot vacuum ran for more than a minute after latching onto the woman’s hair (see photo below).
The woman called 119 (South Korea’s emergency telephone number) and firefighters freed her from the death grip of the robot vacuum. She did lose a few strands of hair, while the robot vacuum was unharmed.
