Whale Dynamic partners with Noodoe to create self-driving delivery ecosystem

Whale Dynamic, a developer of autonomous delivery vehicles, last week partnered with Noodoe, an electric vehicle charging and energy management software provider. The companies said they plan to create an “end-to-end ecosystem” bringing together self-driving delivery vans with artificial intelligence-powered charging management.

“Fully autonomous vehicles demand fully autonomous energy infrastructure,” stated Jennifer Chang, CEO of Noodoe. “When our AI analytics can tell a robot van exactly where, when, and how to charge, fleet operators finally get a seamless, zero-emission solution that stays profitable and hands-off.”

Noodoe said it is dedicated to facilitating the global transition towards sustainable, autonomous transportation through technical leadership and AI-powered software. The Broomfield, Colo.-based company added that it has created the Electric Vehicle Operating System (EV OS) to empower businesses worldwide to enter or expand in local EV charging markets.

Whale Dynamic offers multipurpose autonomous vehicle

With expertise across perception, planning, control, and system integration, Whale Dynamic said it delivers fully driverless vehicles that can operate reliably in geofenced environments without human intervention. The Shenzhen, China.-based company said its platforms combine hardware, software, and AI to enable safe, efficient, and scalable deployment across various use cases—from last-mile delivery to campus and logistics scenarios.

“Reliability and efficiency are the heartbeat of autonomous delivery,” said David Chang, founder and CEO of Whale Dynamic. “Integrating with Noodoe means our vehicles can schedule and manage their own charging and charging schedules, so they leave the depot mission-ready around the clock — exactly what retailers and logistics operators need to scale driver-free delivery in the real world.”

Whale Dynamic listed six technologies at the core of its autonomous vehicles (AVs):

  1. Early-stage fusion hardware
  2. HD map
  3. Proprietary multi-sensor fusion (MSF) perception
  4. Passenger vehicle perception and control (P&C)
  5. Control-by-wire chassis
  6. MSF localization

Whale Dynamics’ small, autonomous delivery vans are similar to those developed by Nuro Inc. In addition to its delivery vehicles, the Mountain View, Calif.-based company also licenses its Nuro Driver to automotive OEMs. In April, Nuro raised in $106 million in funding.

Driverless deliveries to use Noodoe EV OS

Under the partnership, Whale Dynamic’s delivery vehicles will connect directly to Noodoe EV OS. This enables each electric vehicle to locate, schedule, pay for, and complete charging sessions autonomously. The companies said they plan to jointly pursue pilot deployments to validate an integrated system that delivers zero-emission deliveries around the clock with minimal human intervention.

Noodoe and Whale Dynamic also said they are closing the loop between motion and power by linking Whale Dynamics’ WDII last-mile delivery vehicles directly to Noodoe EV OS. The AI-driven EV OS will autonomously manage charging infrastructure and activities while integrating its “single pane of glass” fleet management system.

This partnership lays the groundwork for vehicles, energy infrastructure, and cloud intelligence to work as a single system, Whale Dynamic claimed.
