WALTHAM, Mass. — Vecna Robotics, which provides autonomous mobile robot and workflow orchestration software, announced the appointment of Jeff Huerta to senior vice president of sales. Huerta’s responsibilities will focus on scaling Vecna Robotics’ sales operations to meet the growing demand for its robotics platforms and orchestration software.

Huerta brings more than 15 years of automation leadership experience and has a strong track record of building world-class sales operations, said Vecna. He was previously vice president of North America sales at Balyo, where he led the go-to-market strategy for the company’s self-guided trucks. In 2019, Amazon made a deal for up to 29% of Balyo‘s capital, or $346 million, over seven years.

Previously, Jeff held sales and marketing positions at sensor maker SICK, where he managed and developed the OEM packaging sales team for the North American market.

“We have the opportunity to change the way people view robotics — specifically, how it makes human lives better in the workplace — and I’m excited to be part of the important work Vecna Robotics is doing,” stated Huerta. “As more and more organizations look to capitalize on the increased workflow, operational, and cost benefits of flexible and automated solutions that can easily scale and adapt to changing environments, it’s my goal to ensure that they see Vecna Robotics’ innovative AMRs and Pivotal orchestration software as the answer.”

Huerta joins growing Vecna Robotics team

Vecna Robotics’ autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) help some of the world’s largest distribution, warehouse, and manufacturing organizations automate their bulk materials handling and logistics operations. The company’s AI orchestration engine Pivotal integrates with existing warehouse management systems for a coordinated approach that maximizes human and robot collaboration and increases productivity.

“With ever increasing interest in our AMRs, Vecna Robotics is uniquely positioned to build on our global leadership and further grow our market share,” said David Clear, chief revenue officer at Vecna Robotics. “COVID-19 is magnifying the need for flexible, automated systems that can streamline materials handling and logistics operations for distribution, warehousing, and manufacturing organizations. Jeff’s demonstrated ability to scale successful sales operations is a strategic asset that will help push Vecna Robotics to the next level.”

Huerta’s hiring comes off the heels of tremendous growth and momentum for the company. Earlier this year, Vecna Robotics announced the appointments of Denis Lussault to vice president of autonomy and MIT AI scientist Daniela Rus to its board of directors. The company said these additions to its executive and leadership teams underscore its “commitment to attracting top talent and to delivering world-class robotics and orchestration software that supports its customers’ needs worldwide.”
