Automatica 2025 brought a slew of new product releases in June 2025. Meanwhile, humanoid robot developments continue to grab our readers’ attention.

Hexagon AB has launched its first humanoid robot, AEON, at its flagship Hexagon LIVE Global event. The Zurich-based company said it specifically designed AEON to meet real-world customer needs and address labor shortages. Read more.

Coco Robotics raised $80 million in strategic funding in June 2025. It said the funds will help advance its artificial intelligence platform, scale its fleet, and grow enterprise partnerships. Founded in 2020, Coco Robotics said this capital will accelerate its momentum as it builds on a model that already works at scale. Read more.

Meta introduced V-JEPA 2, a 1.2-billion-parameter world model trained primarily on video to support understanding, prediction, and planning in robotic systems. Built on the Joint Embedding Predictive Architecture (JEPA), the model is designed to help robots and other “AI agents” navigate unfamiliar environments and tasks with limited domain-specific training. Gecko Robotics, a Pittsburgh-based company that designs robots for building, operating, and modernizing critical infrastructure, achieved “unicorn” status in June 2025. With a fresh $125 million in Series D funding, Gecko Robotics doubled its valuation from its previous round to $1.25 billion. Read more.

Wandercraft is a French robotics company founded in 2012 by Nicolas Simon, Matthieu Masselin, and Jean-Louis Constanza. The founders were motivated by personal experiences, as family members suffered from CMT disease and faced limited mobility options. Read more.

Beewise Inc. closed a $50 million Series D funding round. The climate technology company behind the AI-powered BeeHome said the new capital brings its total raised to nearly $170 million. Three-fourths of the world’s flowering plants and about one-third of food crops, including many nutrient-dense fruits, vegetables, and nuts, depend on bee pollination, said the RBR50 honoree. 1X Technologies in June 2025 introduced Redwood, an artificial intelligence model designed for its humanoid, NEO. The company said Redwood enables NEO to perform household tasks autonomously, enabling it to move, perceive, and interact within home environments. The AI model was trained on real-world data and is designed to facilitate tasks such as laundry, answering doors, and navigation within familiar spaces. Read more.

NEURA Robotics is presenting several innovations at Automatica 2025 in Munich, Germany. They include the world premiere of the third generation of its 4NE1 humanoid robot, the market launch of the MiPA cognitive household and service robot, and its Neuraverse open robotics ecosystem. Read more.

Aldebaran, the producer of the Nao and Pepper humanoid robots, reportedly filed for bankruptcy in mid-February and has laid off much of its staff as it looks for another buyer. The robots were well-known in educational and service applications. Bruno Maisonnier founded Aldebaran in 2005. Its bipedal Nao and wheeled Pepper robots were designed with curved white surfaces and were shorter than adults to be non-threatening. Read more.

ABB Robotics said it is expanding its large robot portfolio, introduced a compact mobile robot, and announced new capabilities for the “era of Autonomous Versatile Robotics.” The Zurich-based company claimed that these new robots, as well as its wider portfolio of next-generation robots launched since 2022, is “the most comprehensive lineup of industrial robots and variants on the market.” Read more.
