TERAKI and Foodora to bring autonomous deliveries to Stockholm

TERAKI, a company developing autonomous software for vehicles at lower costs, is partnering with Foodora, a platform for restaurant food delivery, to begin autonomous deliveries with sidewalk robots in Stockholm, Sweden. 

The two companies plan to begin deliveries in the coming months, after they receive approval for autonomous operation from Stockholm authorities. 

“As we navigate “the age of deliver,” our mission is to provide autonomous delivery robots that are green and reliable for city operations. Our tech stack for autonomous driving in cities has been proven and implemented with top automotive companies and passed rigid safety tests,” Daniel Richart, TERAKI’s CEO, said. “Now, we’re using that same technology to autonomously operate delivery robots. Our robots ensure fast, emission-free, last-mile deliveries that increase customer satisfaction and will help Foodora prepare for the future.” 

TERAKI’s self driving technology can be used in a variety of different applications, such as autonomous vehicles, trains and delivery robots. According to the company, its technology can select and process real-time relevant information from large amounts of sensor data 10 times more efficiently. 

The company’s platform allows for ingestion of high volumes of data from edge sensors. Using the platform’s APIs, developers can build and deploy algorithms for any use case. It includes a file service for uploading and exporting sensor data, a decoder service, a model service and enables developers to train their AI-models and ROI-detectors. 

TERAKI also offers SDKs for a range of sensor data, such as time series, video and 3D point clouds. Finally, the company offers DevCenter, its visualization tool. Developers can use DevCenter to test and configure algorithms for accuracy, reduction or latency of smart data pre-processing. 

The robots that will be deployed in Stockholm can carry up to 10 kg in its insulated compartment. They can run for over eight hours on a single charge.
