The COLMENA Project, or “hive” in English, will involve a self-organized swarm of five robots, each equipped with a small solar panel.

The Iris rover weighs only about four pounds, and will be sent to the moon sometime in 2022 aboard Astrobotic’s Peregrine Lunar Lander.
