Updated on December 9, 2016: Propel’s Star Wars drones can now be reserved on the company website for $239.99 each. And some retailers are guaranteeing delivery by Christmas.
If you were hoping for some more Star Wars-themed drones to hit the market, you’re in luck.
Propel RC Toys unveiled at London’s Star Wars Celebration four Star Wars-themed drones that you’ll be able fly at speeds up to 40 MPH and engage in “real-world laser battles” with others.
Propel is creating Star Wars-themed battlling quadcopters modeled after the Millennium Falcon, TIE Advanced X1, T-65 X-Wing and 74-Z Speeder Bike. Each model costs $239.99.
Each of those Star Wars drones is hand painted to model quality, and finished, numbered, certified and packed in a special collectable display box that plays music from the film the vehicle in question appeared in.
The Star Wars drones also include the following features:
- Reverse propulsion blade system achieves speeds of up to 25MPH
- Laser battle game with other Propel Star Wars battling multicopters
- Push button 360 aerial stunts
- 3 speed settings for beginner to advanced pilots
Here’s a look at each of the four Star Wars drones:
Millenium Falcon
TIE Advanced X1
T-65 X-Wing Starfighter
There’s about 10,000-15,000 units for each model, and Propel said there’s no additional manufacturing in the works. Yeah, I’ve heard that one before.
