Welcome to Episode 69 of The Robot Report Podcast, which brings conversations with robotics innovators straight to you. Join us each week for discussions with leading roboticists, innovative robotics companies, and other key members of the robotics community.
In today’s episode, Steve and Mike interview Steve Cousins, the founder and CEO of Savioke Robotics. Savioke recently released a new version of their flagship service robot called Relay+. Steve Cousins talks about the design decisions with the with Relay+, including the modular payload design and the addition of a mechanical actuator and vision system for interacting with a hotel elevator.
We also talk about some of the robotic innovations that Mike spotted during a visit to the recent World Ag Festival in Tulare, CA. This includes apple picking drones, inoculating dairy cows with an industrial robot, shooting almond mummy’s from the tree with a automatic pellet gun and zapping weeds with a high-power laser.
