Robotics Summit panels emphasize development, deployment lifecycle

By The Robot Report Staff | May 30, 2019

At the Robotics Summit & Expo, engineers, engineering managers, and others will learn how cutting-edge hardware and software, along with innovative business models, support the development and deployment of a new generation of robotics systems for a widening range of commercial applications. The event will take place on June 5-6, 2019, at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, Mass.

The Robotics Summit features several panels that cover the entire robotics lifecycle, from design and development through manufacturing, deployment, and servicing, including:

Robotics Clusters as Innovation and Business Engines
In this panel, a rare gathering of representatives of companies and organizations from Denmark, Pittsburgh, Massachusetts, and Silicon Valley will compare notes on how local initiatives can maximize research, nurture startups, and create jobs.

Transitioning Robots From Design to Production
Executives from robotics firms serving different markets will examine how strong product design, supply chain, and assembly processes can reduce the cost of manufacturing and accelerate production.

Motion Control and Robotics Opportunities
Panelists will explore how motion-control innovations have opened new applications and markets.

Robotics-as-a-Service Business Models
Cost and complexity have been barriers to robotics adoption, but leasing or RaaS models can help businesses overcome concerns about risk and capital expenditure. This panel will provide examples of successes.

Robotics Investment and Commercial Opportunities
Even the best technologies can fail if they are developed without a clear vision and investor support. This session will analyze current robotics investment trends and business development best practices.

Developing Consumer-Class Robotics Products
From entertainment and healthcare to relieving users of household chores, consumer robots are entering our daily lives. The participants in this session will share their expertise in designing useful robots that appeal to consumers.

About the Robotics Summit & Expo

Robotics Summit & Expo 2019 will be held on June 5-6 at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston. The global event is produced by WTWH Media LLC, the parent organization of The Robot Report. It will feature keynotes by technology leaders, sessions and panels in four tracks, and 70+ exhibitors. The conference and exposition is designed to help engineers learn about the latest tools to advance the state of commercial robotics products and services.

The Robotics Summit & Expo is co-located with the MassRobotics Robotics Engineering Career Fair, DeviceTalks Boston, and the Future of Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering workshop. In addition, Amazon Web Services is offering its free AWS RoboMaker Immersion Day on June 4 leading into the summit.

Register now to attend the Robotics Summit & Expo. Discounts are available for the academic community and nonprofit groups, including professional associations, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and other tax-exempt or charitable organizations.
