While industrial automation is more established than other types of robots, there are still new capabilities to reach and records to be set. RISE Robotics plans to attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the strongest robotic arm prototype.

“We are thrilled to showcase how RISE Robotics is transforming industrial automation,” stated Hiten Sonpal, CEO at RISE Robotics. ”We’re pushing the limits of what’s possible with robotic actuation, and we can’t wait to share this milestone with the industry.”

The Somerville, Mass.-based company offers Beltdraulic, an electric, fluid-free linear actuator technology that it said delivers hydraulic-like power without the inefficiencies. Using a belt-and-pulley system instead of oil, Beltdraulic can halve operating costs, eliminate emissions, and boost energy efficiency, driving a more sustainable future for heavy machinery, it claimed.

RISE Robotics readies to set record

The company plans to demonstrate its advancements in heavy machinery and industrial automation at 1 Union Square in Somerville, Mass., on March 20.

“This unprecedented feat highlights RISE Robotics’ commitment to redefining robotic actuation efficiency, durability, and power,” the company said. “The event will provide industry professionals, media, and key stakeholders an exclusive opportunity to witness cutting-edge technology.”

The event to set a new record will include:

  • Live demonstration: Attendees can watch the Beltdraulic SuperJammer robotic arm push the boundaries of strength and precision.
  • Expert insights: Company engineers and executives will give interviews to industry professionals and journalists.
  • Behind-the-scenes access: The event will showcase “the innovative technology driving the next era of heavy machinery.”
