LAS VEGAS — Pollen Robotics SAS first debuted and introduced the first edition of its open-source Reachy robot at CES 2020.

Since its launch, the Bordeaux, France-based company has sold 100 robots globally. At CES 2025, Pollen has introduced Reachy 2, a new generation of its research robot platform.

“At Pollen Robotics, we’re proud to offer the only modular, open-source humanoid robotics solution capable of meeting today’s market requirements while anticipating future advancements,” said Matthieu Lapeyre, CEO of Pollen Robotics. “With over 100 robots deployed across 20 countries, including partnerships with the world’s leading AI laboratories, we are dedicated to making Reachy 2 the go-to platform for AI-driven robotics applications.”

Reachy 2 is a teleoperated robot and was on display in front of the Pollen Robotics booth at CES 2025.

Pollen Robotics touts Reachy 2 accessibility

Pollen Robotics said it has enhanced Reachy 2’s features to address market needs, making it a powerful tool for prototyping and deployment. Unlike many proprietary systems, the two-armed manipulator is designed for adaptability, the company claimed.

Reachy 2 is fully open-source, can be teleoperated or controlled with Python, and runs on ROS2 Foxy. Strategic partnerships, including a collaboration with Hugging Face, have driven developments in generative AI for robots including humanoids.

The service robot is available in four configurations: a dual or a single armed mobile manipulator with an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) base, or a dual or single arm with a stationary base. The latest version of Reachy is intended for research centers, healthcare, and retail.

Reachy’s diverse customer base includes institutions such as Hugging Face, Accenture, CEA, CNRS, Ecole Polytechnique, Cornell University, and Carnegie Mellon University. Pollen Robotics said these collaborations demonstrate the platform’s versatility in fields ranging from advanced AI research to practical, real-world manipulation tasks.
