Kollmorgen expert to explain motor integration with Harmonic Drive gearboxes

By The Robot Report Staff | October 9, 2020

Motor specialist to explain technical considerations for pairing motors, Harmonic Drive gearboxes

As part of RoboBusiness Direct next week, Tom S. Wood, a frameless motor specialist at Kollmorgen Corp., will present a technical breakout session for robotics engineers.

Following Harmonic Drive LLC’s keynote panel about “Advanced Actuation as a Robotics Capabilities Enabler,” Wood will lead a discussion on how to quickly identify the right motor technology for to integrate with a Harmonic Drive gearbox.

He will go through a short list of considerations to help robotics developers optimize their design concepts. Wood will also answer questions about the differences between frameless motor options and how to choose the right solution for a particular application.
