InOrbit launches robotics development portal

InOrbit Robotics Development Portal

InOrbit’s Developer Portal includes API endpoints, SDKs, no-code embeds and open-source contributions.

InOrbit, a provider of cloud-based robot operations (RobOps) software, today launched its Developer Portal. The collection of development tools are designed to help roboticists and software engineers build scalable robotics solutions. The portal is available for free here.

The Developer Portal includes API endpoints, SDKs, and no-code embeds. It also includes links to a growing number of open-source contributions, such as support for interoperability standards and sample integration for ChatOps.

“As engineers ourselves, we always want to create tools that solve problems and can be incorporated as part of the robotics development workflow,” said Julian Cerruti, CTO and co-founder of InOrbit.

RobOps now an ecosystem

InOrbit also launch the InOrbit Ecosystem, which is a group of companies with complementary products and services. At press time, InOrbit Ecosystem members include Qualcomm, 634 AI, Digital Keystone, Ekumen, Zan Compute, Mapped, Meili Robots, Next Generation Robotics, OLogic, WiBotic, and Zan Compute.

“InOrbit’s data platform can take care of common RobOps [robot operations] needs for most robots in the real world,” said Florian Pestoni, CEO and co-founder of InOrbit. “At the same time, we know that each robot and deployment is unique. Now developers and robot operators have access to the tools they need to connect their robots to the cloud — and to everything else. Even better, we are enabling other companies to easily integrate with our platform to offer a range of solutions, including IoT sensor data, spatial intelligence, advanced video and routing algorithms.”

InOrbit partners with 634AI

InOrbit is also collaborating with 634AI, which is developing a control tower to manage industrial indoor mobility. This includes tracking of raw material movements and real-time safety alerts for man-driven vehicles, to navigation and fleet management of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). The companies will be offering a joint solution designed to enable a deeper understanding of the flows on industrial and warehouse floors. The overall goal is to make it easier to integrate AMRs on work floors and optimize their activity.

The partnership is the debut of 634AI’s technology to the U.S. market. 634AI will provide InOrbit with an additional layer of data to improve its offering to customers by enabling better management of robotic fleets with a greater awareness and understanding of their environment. 634AI will also use its partnership with InOrbit to access raw data on AMRs in its fleets, such as vehicle type and battery charge level.

We found InOrbit team’s vision of solving real human problems identical to ours, as both companies’ motivation is to develop cutting edge solutions that will ultimately enable humans to undertake more humane jobs.”

InOrbit recently joined MassRobotics. The InOrbit Platform is fully compatible with robots that implement the recently announced MassRobotics AMR Interoperability Standard. The standard allows autonomous vehicles of different types to share information about their robot(s) speed, location, direction, health, tasking/availability and other performance characteristics. As a result, companies may be able to be compliant with the standard when using InOrbit solutions.
