Warehouse operators looking to adopt robots soon realize that it is typically a process rather than a simple point solution. What are the considerations for successfully navigating the automated warehouse journey?

From autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and picking systems to artificial intelligence and data analytics, there are many options and potential pitfalls for warehouses as they modernize. In this free webinar on “Beginning the Automated Warehouse Journey, From Evaluating Technologies to ROI,” experts will share their insights and best practices.

They will discuss the following topics:

  • How to evaluate where to add automation
  • What technologies are available
  • How to manage deployment and integration
  • Monitoring and maintaining one’s return on investment (ROI)

This webinar, the first in our Automated Warehouse Training Days, will be at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024. Register now to attend and have your questions answered live. The discussion will be viewable on demand for registrants after the broadcast date.

Experts to explain the automated warehouse journey

Craig Salvalaggio, president of Applied Manufacturing Technologies, will speak about the automated warehouse journey.

Craig Salvalaggio has served as the chief operating officer of integrator Applied Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) for the past three years. He recently took on additional responsibilities as company president.

Salvalaggio leads overall operations of AMT, along with sales, engineering, and talent management. His technical skills in automation and robotics, combined with his leadership ability, led to Salvalaggio’s current role.

His strategic mission is to continue driving growth and diversity of both the systems and services market segments. Salvalaggio brings over 20 years of automation experience to AMT and holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Lake Superior State University, a masters in operations management, and an MBA from Kettering University.

Salvalaggio is actively involved in the Association for Advancing Automation (A3) as a board of director on the Robotics Tech Sector Board, committee member, and the co-chair of the Certified Integrator Committee. He is regular speaker and panelist on a variety of industry association events providing technical insights into emerging technologies, culture, and talent management.

Jason Nehf of MiR will discuss the automation journey in a free webinar.

Jason Nehf is currently the acting director of channel development at Mobile Industrial Robots ApS (MiR). He is responsible for management of the distribution and system integrator network for the Americas region.

Nehf has been at MiR for the past two years and has over 25 years of experience in the industrial automation and robotics industry. He has served on the board at the Association for High Technology Distribution (AHTD) and is an active member of A3.

Caler Harbour of Advanced Control Solutions will discuss robots in the warehouse.

Cale Harbour is vice president of product marketing at Advanced Control Solutions & Automation Inc. He has worked in automation for more than 30 years. During that time, Harbour said he has had the privilege to work with a host of great people and technologies.

He has participated in multiple conferences to promote automation and the expansion of robotics in the Southeast U.S. In addition, Harbour has served as a guest lecturer at many local universities and technical schools and collaborated with multiple Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) chapters in the Southeast and the Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) in Georgia.

Most recently, Harbour served as a panelist at the “Automate the ATL” event hosted at Georgia Tech.
