ForSight Robotics announced today it completed a $125 million Series B funding round to support its ophthalmic robotic surgery tech.
Eclipse led the financing for ForSight. An undisclosed strategic investor and board member Fred Moll — considered “the father of surgical robotics” — participated, too. The Adani Group, Reiya Ventures and other existing investors joined in as well.
The Series B brought the company’s total funding to $195 million.
ForSight Robotics said it plans to use funds to accelerate the next growth phase for its Oryom platform. It touts ORYOM as the world’s first robotic surgery platform for cataracts and widespread eye diseases. ORYOM uses AI-based algorithms, advanced computer vision, and miniaturized mechanics.
Engineered for precise, consistent ophthalmic procedures, the platform aims to deliver dexterity and maneuverability with an improved ergonomic experience. It can reach any point within the human eye, allowing surgeons to navigate complex angles. It also ensures access to anterior and posterior segments for future glaucoma and retinal surgery treatments.

ForSight said the funds come in as it prepares to launch first-in-human clinical trials this year.
“We see ophthalmology as the next frontier in the robotics revolution – much like general surgery was before the rise of Intuitive Surgical,” said Dr. Joseph Nathan, ForSight Robotics’ co-founder, president, and chief medical officer. “With a comparable market size and an urgent global need, our opportunity ahead is immense.
“Through our latest funding round, we will bring the same level of transformative impact to eye surgery, with technology designed specifically for its unique precision and complexity.”
The National Health Society (NHS) of England announced earlier this month that millions of patients will benefit from robotic surgery over the next decade as part of its efforts to cut waiting times. By 2035, it plans to support half a million robotic operations every year, up from 70,000 in 2023 and 2024, according to NHS projections.
