Flexiv last week announced the expansion of its operations in Singapore, a key market for the company. To accommodate its growing team and meet rising customer demand, Flexiv Singapore recently relocated to a larger facility within Singapore Science Park 1.

The company said this strategic expansion reflects both the increasing popularity of robotic automation solutions in the region and Flexiv’s expanding global presence.

“Our decision to open a new office was driven by the rapid growth of our operations,” said Jeff Ng, Regional Manager of Flexiv Singapore. “When we established our first office, we accounted for future expansion, but the surge in inquiries and demand exceeded even our expectations. With our adaptive robots redefining what’s possible in automation, this new facility will allow us to showcase more applications and provide more businesses with state-of-the-art robotic solutions. We’re proud and delighted to contribute to the growth of automation in both industrial and non-industrial sectors within Singapore and beyond.”

The new office is not only a milestone in Flexiv’s growth strategy but it also serves as a regional hub to support customers and partners. With improved access to technical expertise, localized support, and tailored solutions, the expanded facility aims to accelerate the adoption of Flexiv’s robotics across Southeast Asia.

Founded in 2016, Flexiv described itself as a “general-purpose robotics company dedicated to developing and manufacturing adaptive robots.” The company claimed that it has integrated industrial-grade force control, computer vision, and artificial intelligence to deliver systems that enhance efficiency while reducing operational costs and environmental impact.

Flexiv targets Singapore’s growing robotics market

According to the latest International Federation of Robotics (IFR) data, Singapore boasts a robot density of 730 to 770 robots per 10,000 employees making it second only to South Korea. Despite Singapore’s relatively small manufacturing workforce, this exceptionally high ratio underscores the nation’s rapid adoption of industrial robotics and its commitment to automation.

With its warehouse space effectively doubled, coupled with an expanded commissioning area, Flexiv Singapore is now better equipped to provide robotic systems to its growing customer base.

This expansion also aligns with broader industry trends. According to the IFR, 73% of all newly deployed industrial robots in 2023 were installed in Asia, a clear indication of the region’s accelerating commitment to automation. The surge in adoption reinforces the critical role robotics play in transforming manufacturing processes and addressing the growing demands of modern industries.

As more industries embrace automation, adaptive robots are gaining recognition for their ability to perform a wide range of tasks that previously required manual labor. From traditional robot applications like assembly and packaging to complex tasks that require a human-like sense of touch, such as precision insertion and material abrasion, Flexiv’s adaptive robots integrate into existing workflows, enhancing productivity, safety, and operational flexibility, it said.

Earlier this year, Flexiv partnered with Kurabo to integrate its force-control technology with Kurabo’s KURASENSE 3D vision sensing technology to develop the KURAVIZON adaptive robot. After an extensive research and testing phase, Kurabo found Flexiv’s Rizon series of seven-axis robots proved to be a match for its KURASENSE system. The companies said the partnership demonstrates their commitment to innovation.
