Surely you remember the gun drone that sparked an FAA investigation over the summer. Austin Haughwout, a teenager from Clinton, Connecticut, attached a semiautomatic gun to a drone and recorded a video of it shooting four rounds in the woods.

Well, apparently the investigation didn’t scare Haughwout. Yesterday he posted a video of his latest creation, a flamethrower drone, and it’s one of the things nightmares are made of.

The video shows the flamethrower drone hovering in place and incinerating a turkey into a blackened crisp. The video even appears to be sponsored by HobbyKing, which apparently supplied most of the pieces Haughwout used to build the drone.

If you watch the video, you’ll notice a house in the background, raising several questions about the safety of this video. But Haughwout’s father insisted the flame-throwing turkey roast was done safely, telling WTNH News 8 that there were buckets of water, fire extinguishers, and hoses nearby. He also said the area had been cleared of extra leaves prior to firing the drone up.

The FAA investigated and ultimately ruled the gun-shooting drone did not break any laws. We’ll have to wait and see whether the flamethrower drone breaks any laws. We’re guessing it doesn’t, but it most certainly should, right?

The FAA expects more than 1 million drones to be sold this holiday season. Drones are on everyone’s wish list, but hopefully the flamethrower drone isn’t one of them.
