The EGP from SCHUNK is more compact that typical electric grippers to grab small parts. Now, a new version, the size 25 EGP — weighing 110 g with a stroke of 3 mm per finger — can grab with 40 N to handle workpieces to 200 g. It’s as efficient as pneumatic alternatives and (with integrated electronics) acts in just 0.09 sec.
Other features include maintenance-free servomotors with cross-roller guidance; quick replacement of pneumatic MPG-plus grippers; and a common sensor system.
Actuation is similar to that of the MPG-plus in that it’s triggered digitally or by a sensor distributor. Installers can mount the MPG-plus and EGP from the side or the bottom.
The gripper’s aluminum housing is made of special high-performance aluminum, so it’s light. It’s class IP30 compliant and works for myriad handling and assembly applications.
