I’ll never complain about traffic again.
If you think traffic is bad where you live, check out the drone’s-eye-view of the “carpocalypse” traffic jam that stranded thousands of motorists in China who were returning home after a week-long National Day holiday.
Carpocalypse was reportedly caused by foggy weather and a new checkpoint on one of Beijing’s busiest roads, the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway, which reduced the number of lanes on the road from 50 to 20.
The route serves as the main route for cross-country travelers. An estimated 750 million people, half the country’s population, were expected to travel on China’s rail and road networks across the seven-day holiday.
