Dassault Systèmes S.E. this week announced a partnership with global industrial automation provider KUKA AG. Under the terms of the agreement, Dassault is joining mosaixx, KUKA’s digital ecosystem for industrial software. This means it can offer KUKA customers an easy way to purchase and use Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform and applications.

“Our collaboration with Dassault Systèmes enables us to expand our mosaixx portfolio with industry-leading virtual twin technology,” stated Quirin Goerz, CEO of KUKA Digital. “Engineers can carry out simulations and analyses with real-time data, while streamlined collaboration empowers system integrators with flexible applications for enhanced adaptability and innovation.”

The companies said they hope to expand customer access to virtual twin technology and enhanced collaboration capabilities. That would allow customers to develop more efficient adaptable systems for their operations, asserted Dassault and KUKA.

They announced the partnership during Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE World event in Houston, dedicated to the company‘s SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE platform user community.

About mosaixx and 3DEXPERIENCE

The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) has estimated the global market value of industrial robot installations at $16.5 billion, driven by advances in artificial intelligence, energy efficiency, and other trends. With more than 4 million industrial robots operating in factories worldwide in 2024, the IFR said it expects the annual number of installations in 2026 to increase to 718,000.

KUKA Group launched mosaixx in 2024 to provide an open, collaborative cloud platform for industrial software for this growing field. It provides system integrators and engineers with access to a wide range of systems to drive the digitalization and automation of factory floors and production machines. KUKA said it uses an ecosystem approach, regardless of machine type or manufacturer.

Dassault Systèmes added that its 3DEXPERIENCE platform and applications are used by industrial equipment manufacturers worldwide. With the platform, users can design, simulate, and engineer products, processes, and infrastructure virtually with real-time data, before producing or implementing them physically.

“By partnering with KUKA, we can offer streamlined access to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and our many applications such as CATIA, DELMIA and SOLIDWORKS,” said Gian Paolo Bassi, senior vice president, customer role experience, at Dassault Systèmes. “This will open up new possibilities for customers to benefit from the virtual world and collaborate and innovate in diverse sectors such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, metalworking, logistics, healthcare and more

Meet KUKA and Dassault at the Robotics Summit

Both KUKA and Dassault Systèmes will be exhibiting at the Robotics Summit & Expo at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on April 30 and May 1. The show brings together the brightest minds in robotics to share their experiences and expertise.

Attendees can find KUKA in Booth 635, and Dassault Systèmes in Booth 350.

The expo hall at the 2025 Robotics Summit will have more than 200 exhibitors showcasing the latest enabling technologies, products, and services that can help robotics engineers throughout their development journeys.

The event will have a total of more than 50 sessions in tracks on AI, design and development, enabling technologies, logistics, and healthcare. The Engineering Theater on the show floor will also feature presentations by industry experts.

The Robotics Summit & Expo also offers numerous networking opportunities, a Career Fair, a robotics development challenge, the RBR50 Robotics Innovation Awards Gala, and much more.
