CCTY highlighting humanoid motion control at RoboBusiness

Lake Zurich, IL – CCTY, a provider of robotic and humanoid bearings and linkages, will be exhibiting at RoboBusiness, the leading event for robotics developers. The event takes place October 15-16, 2025 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

Attendees can visit Booth #616 to explore CCTY’s full range of miniature bushings, crossed roller bearings, rod ends, linkages, and spherical plain bearings — all engineered to deliver smooth, fluid motion.

Humanoids for Real Applications: Mastering Safety and Performance

Integrating Behavioral Science into Humanoid Design

For humanoids to operate effectively in human environments, they must do more than complete tasks. Humanoids will eventually also need to understand and respond to human behavior. To achieve this, developers must integrate insights from human behavioral science into humanoid design. Advances in AI, modeling, and data science are now making it possible to simulate and study human behavior at scale, opening new paths for creating robots that align with human expectations. The next decade presents a unique opportunity to combine robotics, AI, behavioral modeling, and data-driven insights to build humanoids that amplify human potential and deliver real commercial value.

From Teleop to Autonomy: A Framework for Humanoid Surgical Robots

Speaker: Michael Yip, Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Affiliate Professor, Computer Science, and Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, UC San Diego

To meet the evolving needs of modern healthcare, we are rethinking not just how robots assist surgery, but what kind of robots we build. Humanoid surgical robots present a radical but necessary departure from conventional design: mobile, human-like systems capable of leveraging existing surgical tools, operating in unstructured environments, and eventually collaborating as intelligent surgical partners. Their anthropomorphic design allows them to seamlessly integrate into the human-centered operating room ecosystem, while also leveraging the breadth of work in semi-autonomous assistance, learning from demonstration, and embodied intelligence that is being observed today in many non-surgical humanoid robot applications.

This talk will introduce Surgie, the first humanoid robot in the operative setting. They will discuss the effort to take the first step, from teleoperation towards partial autonomy, to realize the vision of a humanoid robot assistant capable of understanding, anticipating, and executing complex medical procedures alongside human clinicians.
