Sanbot Elf Adds C2RO’s Cloud-based AI for Facial Recognition

By The Robot Report Staff | February 6, 2018

Sanbot Elf Robot

Sanbot Elf robot will use C2RO’s cloud-based AI for facial recognition.

C2RO has partnered with Qihan Sanbot Robotics, a China-based manufacturer of service robots. The deal equips Sanbot Elf robot with C2RO’s cloud-based artificial intelligence (AI).

Sanbot Elf will use C2RO Engage for enterprise-grade facial recognition. This enables on-the-fly learning of tens of thousands of faces in a database. It also enables instant knowledge-sharing and improved collaboration with other connected robots.

“This integration is a significant milestone for the service robot industry,” said Ryan Wu, Director of Sales at Qihan. “We’re excited that Sanbot customers can now use the Elf platform for new and valuable applications that depend on real-time enterprise-class face recognition. We’re already signing up new partners that wish to take advantage of this software capability.”

Leveraging known faces

C2RO’s centralized real-time data processing and control architecture allow connected robots to leverage the entire database of known faces. Watch this video for an example of this collaboration.

C2RO Engage features a dashboard to monitor robots and statistics. It also ties-in robots to existing business systems. which allows businesses to better understand customers and provide special services.

“We’re extremely excited about the partnership with Qihan. Customers can continue to leverage the reliability and quality of Qihan’s robots while having a simple software upgrade for increasing the robot’s perception and interactive potential,” said Riccardo Badalone, CEO of C2RO. “This new cognitive capability, combined with advanced data analysis tools, is creating new opportunities for service robots across industries such as hotels, airports, healthcare, retail, restaurants, offices, and more.”
