AI Conference Brings Current Trends, Apps to CES 2018

Robotics Trends’ AI conference at CES 2018 examines recent developments, current applications, and concerns about AI. Hear leading AI experts discuss the reality behind the hype and how AI will impact our everyday lives.

Artificial intelligence and robotics will be major themes at the International Consumer Electronics Show from Jan. 9 through 12, 2018, in Las Vegas, and Robotics Trends is excited to once again be part of the action. Robotics Trends is a sibling site to Robotics Business Review, and we’ll be working together on the AI conference within CES 2018.

On Tuesday, Jan. 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Robotics Trends will be hosting its conference on “Artificial Intelligence: Insights into Our Future,” covering the state of machine learning. Attendees will hear leading AI experts discuss recent developments, current applications, and how AI will impact our everyday lives.

The conference takes place in Room N260 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. We hope to see you there!

Below is the schedule and list of speakers involved in our CES AI conference:

The State of Artificial Intelligence

Speaker: Deepu Talla, vice president and general manager of autonomous machines, Nvidia
Time: 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

This session will examine the state of AI technology in 2018. We’ll discuss leading AI breakthroughs from various industries, where the technology is headed, and challenges that still need to be overcome. More Info

Designing AI-Powered Robots

Panelists: George Babu, co-founder and chief product officer, Kindred; Chris Jones, vice president of technology, iRobot; Andrew Stein, head of robotics and AI, Anki
Time: 10:15 to 11:15 a.m.

Social and service robots that understand and interact more naturally with humans rely on advanced AI. This session will demonstrate how artificial intelligence is helping build smarter robots that will be more user-friendly. More Info

The Roadmap for Self-Driving Cars

Panelists: Michael Fleming, CEO, Torc Robotics; Andrew Kouri, CEO, lvl5; Andy Zeilman, vice president of business development and strategic alliances, Affectiva
Time: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Self-driving cars promise to save millions of lives and revolutionize the transportation industry. This panel will analyze how AI and other technologies are improving self-driving cars and how to safely integrate them onto our roads. It will also examine the in-car experience and the technological and regulatory hurdles that remain. More Info

In addition to our AI conference at CES 2018, we’ll be in Las Vegas all week covering the latest developments in AI and robotics. We’ll be perusing the marketplaces for AI, drones, robotics, and self-driving cars to share the newest products.

Robotics Business Review will also be hosting a wrap-up webcast that will recap all the developments from CES for those who can’t make it to the show.
