I hate to break this to you but the robot wasn’t a robot after all. It may have looked like Asimo, but it was really Rachael Ma dressed up in a robot costume; the robot’s voice wasn’t AI interaction but an actor reading lines to sound a little inhuman.
But the movie itself was a charming story that touched on two ethical issues involved with healthcare in the future: concern over a robot providing assistance and life coaching for a person with serious aging and/or psychological issues and over the issue of whether or how a robot might assist in illegal activities.
The acting by Frank Langella was wonderfully convincing.
The movie ended with cameo videos of current-day assistance robots as they attempt to achieve that which the movie projects.
