Hansen’s Sensei X2 robotic catheter system
The Mountain View, Calif.–based company’s robotic catheter is designed to navigate the peripheral vasculature and provide a conduit for the placement of therapeutic devices. The catheter operates as part of Hansen’s Magellan robotic system.
The Magellan robotic system is a platform that drives Magellan robotic catheters and guidewires during minimally-invasive endovascular procedures, Hansen Medical said.
The Sensei X Robotic system uses 3D catheter controls and 3D visualization to allow an operating surgeon to control its robotically steerable catheters for collecting electrophysiological data within the heart atria.
Founder and former business head Frederic Moll last year picked up Hansen Medical through his newest establishment, Auris Surgical.
